PLANTED INITIATIVE
Where we were
It all started with the merger. 1990 Oregon Bible, and Southside Chapel, a bunch of generous people became one church.
Hillcrest Bible Church.
Some things that changed
New auditorium in 1997
Gym built to facilitate growing kids ministry in 2008
New Lead Pastors 2005/2019
But our heart remained the same. We had, and still have a burning desire to:
1. Offer Living Water to thirsty souls.
2. Cultivate a vibrant kids ministry, giving away our faith to the next generation.
3. Deploy people as Everyday Missionaries, inevitably developing churches throughout Southern Wisconsin.
We have grown!
1. Our Kids Ministry is full in a gym environment that is not the most conducive to age-appropriate teaching and learning.
2. Our parking lot is full as people struggle to find a spot, and yet our heart is to be a welcoming people. We want to communicate, “There is room for you here.”
So where are we headed?
So that we can have the greatest impact on the next generation’s pastors, ministry leaders, missionaries, coworkers, and neighbors,
WE ARE:
1. Working with Building God’s Way to finalize a possible long-term master campus plan & discuss what would be the initial phase of a ministry addition on our current campus.
2. Exploring campus options on other possible sites to determine if God is leading us in a different direction.
3. Continuing to explore what joy-filled, biblically-saturated, multi-generational communit(ies) looks like.
4. Praying desperately and dependently for God to reveal Hillcrest’s next steps.
We long for 100% engagement from all those who call themselves Everyday Missionaries carrying the certainty of Christ. Help us pray with desperate dependence, joyfully stepping into whatever God has for us.
We are not unaware that it will take raised funds for whatever next step God is asking of us. We are convinced that this is a big endeavor that requires God’s continued story of grace be written at Hillcrest and we believe will profoundly impact us, as well as our kids, grandkids, community, region, and world. If the Lord is stirring in your heart to give above and beyond your normal generosity, we invite you to give to this mission and work that the Lord is doing here through Hillcrest.
So join us in prayer!
