Journeying Together
Being a mom of someone with special needs can be quite a journey! Our Journeying Together group is a place for moms of those with special needs (any age) to have fun, learn, and build friendships. We gather together in the evening about five times per year to have fun and learn from speakers and other moms. We also offer a “casual coffee” time at least once per month; it is an afternoon or evening to just get together with other moms and chat or catch up.
Hillcrest Buddy Connections
We understand that not all families can just drop their kids off in a kid’s or student ministry setting so we have created Hillcrest Buddy Connections to help each child have a successful time while on campus! Our volunteers will work with your family to create a plan that provides the necessary supports for your child to be successful each time they participate in our Hillcrest KIDS Ministry (Sunday mornings, Family Night, VBS, etc) or Hillcrest Student Ministry. Whether it’s direct 1:1 support, access to our sensory bags, or something in between, we want your child to have the opportunity to learn about Jesus alongside their peers. We also want you to be able to attend the Sunday service with confidence, knowing that your child’s needs are being met.
Sensory Bags
We have curated sensory bags for those that may benefit from sensory activities during any Hillcrest service/event. We also have bags available for use in our Kid’s Ministry areas. If you or your child would benefit from borrowing a bag, please visit the information desk in the fellowship area or request a bag from the Kid’s Ministry Coordinator. Each bag includes a set of noise cancelling headphones, fidget items, and coloring materials.
