Confronting the Lie: I am what others say or think of me

Luke 6:20-26. In our final week of this teaching series, we’ll examine the masks we wear to gain the approval of others. In this mindset, we fall into believing that our value is determined by the applause of people. The opinions of the people I respect and admire define me. When we approach life this way, disappointing people feels like death. In contrast, however, Jesus invites us to set aside the masks and discover ultimate approval in him. This approval gives lasting satisfaction and removes our need for constant affirmation from others.
